At 6:00 p.m. on March 10th and 12th in the High School cafeteria, Westwood Independent School District will be holding two informational meetings about the establishment of a steering committee that will be responsible for the development of a long-range instructional and facilities master plan. This master plan will serve as a road map to further the Westwood ISD - Strategic Plan 2017-2020. In the formulation of this master plan, the committee will discover best practices for 21st century learning and how to best accomplish these strategies in terms of teaching and learning, student instruction, technology, facilities, equipment, and the like. We anticipate this work will also serve as a precursor to the development of a strategic plan for the next 5 years. The Board of Trustees is seeking community involvement and leadership in the development of this long-range master plan. Two informational meetings will be hosted by Westwood ISD so that any interested community member living in the district can learn about the role and responsibilities of the steering committee and how each committee member can become an active participant in the future of Westwood ISD. Participation in the steering committee will require attendance in the first meeting of the Long-Range Steering Committee that will be held in High School cafeteria at 6:00 p.m. on March 24th. If you are interested in helping shape a positive future for Westwood ISD, the WISD Board of Trustees welcomes and appreciates your involvement.
